h, that was super adorable... the setting, the dialog, the illustrations... all of it! The switching of scenes, back and forth in time, was super effective, especially considering the Truth or dare game. It was nice to have that insight into their backstories and characters.

The illustrations were especially darling, and you, mystery artists, seem to have a real knack for drawing them as young and in the 1970's. There is a very particular look to that era that is not always so easy to achieve, but you really nailed it.

The little details in this (like the plaiting of hair and Lily's pyjamas) just made this shine! But, perhaps, most of all, I very much loved their banter and easy humor; it felt so "right" for them, if you know what I mean. This bit was one of my favorites:
“You heard me. I’m in love with him. I want to give him roses and squishy teddybears and sloppy kisses. I want to touch his hair and stuff.”

James groaned. “You’re in deep shit, man.”

“I just said that. I know this breaks, like, a million rules of Marauderly conduct, and I’ve tried to stop myself, but I can’t.”
Just too cute!

Again, this was a really darling story! Hurray for your team!
